Since he was young, Kyle has had a more artistic side. He took art classes in and outside of school. He would constantly be drawing on anything he could. After high school, Kyle decided to pursue an art education degree at a local university. He thoroughly enjoyed his art-related classes that he attended for three semesters. Unfortunately, fine arts education positions are difficult to land anywhere, especially in his hometown. It was then that Kyle decided to take a look at other options.

Kyle discovered his passion for hair out of curiosity and had never expressed interest in the beauty industry. With the help of his mom’s hairstylist at the time, who was also an owner/educator at a local beauty school, Kyle took a tour of the school. After the tour, he knew this was something that he was very interested in and he enrolled. During beauty school, Kyle discovered that hair is like working with an art medium to create a masterpiece. He also fell in love with the science behind hair and how hair products and chemicals worked. Kyle graduated from The Salon Professional Academy in November of 2008.

Kyle’s adventure after beauty school has been full of many exciting experiences, travel and a lot of fantastic people. He has built an amazing, trustworthy clientele, who support all of his endeavors and are very open to new ideas and trends. Kyle always ensures that his clients look and feel their best. He also makes sure that his clients are educated on when and how to use their products and how to style their hair. Kyle also ensures his clients have the healthiest hair possible.

But, there was still something missing for Kyle: the education and teaching. Kyle is a huge advocate for continuing education. Going to classes and learning the latest in trends and techniques is stimulating for him. Kyle had always hoped to teach for a manufacturer. He chose Joico in 2015 because he truly believes in the company, what they stand for and the products they’ve created. Teaching and mentoring other stylists is one of Kyle’s passions. Being able to impart knowledge onto other stylists is something that he strives for. Kyle has also had the opportunity to work industry trade shows, both local and internationally, which is another one of his favorite things. Kyle is currently a Master Artist for Joico and was hand selected to be a part of Joico’s Master Artist Series Balayage Training Team.

When Kyle isn’t behind the chair or educating for Joico, he enjoys spending time with family, friends, his dogs, Katie and Sadie, home improvement projects, creating art, traveling and enjoys a good Netflix or Hulu binge from time to time.
